Work, traveling & love...

27 augustus 2018 - Laguna Beach, California, Verenigde Staten

Hi friends, family and whoever likes to read my stories, it’s been a crazy fun few months for me. Summer with my host kids, my brother came over from Netherlands, one of my best friends came to LA, went for a long weekend to San Francisco, did a crazy cool road trip through California & fell in love with an American! ;p

Anyways, I also still have to work all week and don’t just do fun stuff (it looks like that if you see how much fun stuff I did these months). Quinn is becoming a real crazy active kiddo with her own opinion. She now even has fights sometimes with her sister Rylan, she’s a real rascal. Also, she’s getting funnier and funnier now she really has her own personality and now she can talk well. I’m really happy with my girls, sometimes they are also acting crazy though (like every normal kid haha...). The time still goes super fast here, because I love my work. I have so much to do on the weekend & California is just the best state to live in ;p. Very expensive though... my wallet is not happy with that.

I went on some cool trips and now I have to save up. Around 1.5 months ago I went to San Francisco for four days. The city was the only city I really really wanted to go to for a few days, so it was worth every dollar of my budget. In San Fran I booked a really nice hostel for 3 days. I literally slept 8-10 hours total those 3 nights though, because of some crazy stuff that happened in my room. One the first night I tried to sleep around 12 am, but at 12:30 am a totally drunk (and I guess on drugs) girl came into the room (we were with around 12 peeps in the room) and began to act crazy. She tried to sneak into other peoples beds and made weird sexual noises (I’m not kidding!!). Also, at one point she was talking to me and touching my back and I was really mad at her. Of course she was so drunk she didn’t respond. But the worse thing is that after that incident, the girl went up to an old guy and stepped into his bed. You don’t want to believe what happens next... Anyways, first the hostel manager came into the room and said the old man and the drunk girl had to leave the hostel right away (this was around 1:30 am). Of course, they did not leave and at 2:30 am the cops showed up to handle the situation! We found out the drunk girl did not even belong to our hostel and she was taken by the ambulance to get her checked out. I do not really know what happened with the old guy, but what I know is that the cops left at 5 am and then I could finally sleep.... This was the most weird hostel experience ever. I can’t say anything bad about the hostel itself tho, because it was a really nice place with cool people! Anyways, my trip to San Fran was really cool and I saw a lot of the beautiful city. Also, I was really lucky I went to the Golden Gate Bridge when the sky was super blue & clear (this is pretty rare)! I really recommend people to go to this city, but it’s pretty expensive up there.

Three weeks it was finally time for something really nice: I would see Hessel from Netherlands again after almost 1,5 years! I was so happy to see him again in LA (he was in LA for around eight days, so we met up the whole weekend). From Friday afternoon till Sunday night we explored the city together and one night we went out to a real cool club called Clifton’s. The nice thing was that together we joked around all the time, so it didn’t feel like I missed Hessel for so long! Saying goodbye again on Sunday was hard though :(.

Two weeks ago I went on another amazing trip with my brother Teun! He came over from Netherlands for 2 weeks (he just left my house in Laguna) and we rented a car for a week to drive around California. I have never saw so much beautiful landscapes in such a short time! First we went up to LA and in the morning the next day we drove to Santa Barbara following by Big Sur. The 3rd day we went to Santa Cruz and some other small beach towns, following by San Francisco. We had a hotel there so we spent 1,5 days in the city. The 4th day we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sonoma and Napa (the wine country of Northern California) following by Yosemite National Park. We spend 3 days up there and it was really amazing! One day we hiked all the way up to a big mountain and saw two really pretty waterfalls (and we already exercised for the whole week). The last day, we drove back to LA and slept there. It was really fun to see my brother again and to do this amazingly cool road trip through my state. California has so much to offer and not only fancy beach towns 😆!

But now I’ll talk about the most interesting thing that happened to me, I found the most amazing and funny American guy! (Mom and dad, hopefully you guys accept him in our funny family .... 😝) Funny thing is that Aidan and me have so much in common, but we both have such different backgrounds! I am not going to share too much already, because I want to keep Aidan for myself Hahaha...!
